In late July, I bought a 2nd hand car from this used car dealer and I decided to consign my old ride to him cos the trade-in price he gave me was very low. I thought just let him try 1-2months la since I in no hurry to sell. So I signed a consignment agreement with him and left my car at his company for him to help me sell.
What happened to my consigned car
1) The price he stated on sgcarmart was S$2,688 higher than my asking price
2) He drove my car everyday (I got the shock of my life when I went to spot check my car at his office's basement carpark, my mileage went up by 1,800km in a month's time!)
3) My car was not properly maintained (when i went to spot check, the car was very dirty and full of bird s--t all over. and my car wasn't locked!!!)
4) My car kena $50 summon when it was left with his company
I was furious with wat I saw when I went down to spot check. The car was 100% confirm not in a "showroom" kind of condition lo. I consigned my car to him and left it at his office...of cos the intention was for him to help me sell right. but instead he used it as his "kah ta" and clocked a mileage of 1,800km in a month! i was damn pissed la. besides tis, he also did not keep to his promise for the stuff he said he will do for the car I bought from him.
Things he promised for the car I bought from him
1) Spare car key: he told me the spare key is with prev owner. after 1 mth, i asked him abt it and he told me prev owner lost the spare key. WTF!
2) Alignment: told me he will get it done by the time I collect the car. When I collect the car, he told me he no time to do. ask me go do myself then get receipt claim from him. simi sai....you tink u are my HR ah....make me run here run there do all these stuff.
3) Spoiler: he said he sent the spoiler to respray and will pass to me once done. after 1 mth, the spoiler still at workshop....i didn't know the spoiler so big muz spray so long sia.
4) promised to clean the interior of the car. when i collected the car, it was still in the same condition as per the time i went down to test drive.
Honestly I didn't care abt all these stuff that he promised until he pissed me off regarding my consigned car. I am really disappointed because I gave him a chance to earn more money and I treated the dealer like a fren. in the end, he took me for a ride and his service was really unprofessional. really NATO. in the end, I took my car back immediately the following morning after my spot check. tmd....wasted 1 month and he drove my car for free for 1 freaking month!
So folks, pls be careful of this dealer. I don't like to flame ppl in forums but I believe the used car market can be a better place for both consumers and used car business owners with lesser unethical used car dealers. I am keeping the original consignment documents and photos of my odometer (before and after)...dunnoe when I gonna need it.
